The 1998 version of the Leatherman Super Tool had the same tools as in 1997: with a clip point blade, USA on the pliers pivot, and a smaller size to the pliers assembly. The tool configuration remained the same in 1999, and in every succeeding year until the Super Tool's retirement in 2001. In 1998 the PST switched from L-shaped screwdrivers to slimmer, more tapered ones. However, the Super Tool continued to use the older L-shaped profile, and the same design was also passed along to the later Super Tool 200.
