The Victorinox and Wenger 1994 Soldier Swiss Army knives are a 93mm / 3 1/2" ribbed alox knife, with a 1994 date on the blade tang. This model was standard issue for the Swiss army during 1994. The cutting notch and hollow rivet that were started to be phased out in the 1993 Soldier are completely gone on 94 knives. Victorinox knives still have a sharp-edged bottle opener, but the Wenger has rounded corners. Both Wenger and Victorinox switched to solid rivets for 1994 production. The same Victorinox tools continue on the 1995 Soldier, but Wenger reverted to hollow rivets (usually with a bale).
