The Victorinox and Wenger 1982 Soldier Swiss Army knives are a 93mm / 3 1/2" ribbed alox knife, with a 1982 date on the blade tang. This model was standard issue for the Swiss army during 1982, and it is relatively uncommon.

Soldier knives with an 82 date have a hollow rivet, a cutting notch in the bottle opener, and a square box for the Waffenkontrolle inspection stamp. Victorinox knives have a polished blade, while Wengers are matte without visible striations (similar to the 1981 Soldier). This is the last year for the matte Wenger blades, and the stamped dates have a box around them, so it appears that Wenger may have been fiddling with their manufacturing process. Tools continue with some minor changes, on the subsequent 1983 Soldier.

Size & Weight: The Victorinox and Wenger 1982 Soldier knife is 93mm (3 1/2") long, 23mm (15/16") wide, and 14mm (1/2") thick. It weighs about 73 grams (2.6 oz).
Colors: The 1982 Soldier comes in silver ribbed aluminum alox.
