The Victorinox and Wenger 1975 Soldier Swiss Army knives are a 93mm / 3 1/2" ribbed alox knife, with a 1975 date on the blade tang. This model was standard issue for the Swiss army during 1975. Both versions have a cutting notch in the bottle opener, a hollow rivet, and a cross with Waffenkontrolle stamp. This is the first year with a Victorinox tang mark instead of Elsener Schwyz. Tools are otherwise similar to the 1974 Soldier, and remain unchanged in the subsequent 1976 Soldier. Mid-70s knives often show conspicuous grind marks on the main blade, running perpendicular to the edge.
