In 1996, Leatherman Tools introduced two new multi-tools: the PST II (similar to the PST, but with scissors and a diamond file), and the much smaller Micra. Meanwhile, 1996 was a year with two transitions for the PST. Those produced early in the year had the same tools as the 1995 version. Early in the year, the trademark number was removed, leaving just "Leatherman Tool" and "Portland OR" stamped into the stainless steel body (a few rare tools ended up with different versions on each side). Starting mid-year, there was a new hard wire-cutting notch near the pliers pivot. This configuration then continued into 1997.
