Copyright Permissions

All text and images on the SmartKnives website are copyrighted by SmartKnives.com.

We know it is easy to just copy and paste images or text from our site, but copyright law restricts your use of copyrighted material to "fair use" conditions such as product reviews, parody, news reports and academic lessons.

It is not legal to use our copyrighted material for commercial uses such as eBay auctions, unless you get our permission first. When we find infringing uses on eBay, we report it to their VERO program, and the listing will be removed.

If you would like to use our text or images legally, here are the guidelines:

Permission

You need to get our written permission before using any images or text from our website. To do that, contact us at info@SmartKnives.com and let us know what you’d like to use, and how.

In nearly all cases, we will grant you legal permission to use our copyrighted text and/or images in as many auctions as you’d like, provided that you follow the conditions listed below.

What to Copy

You must not mimic the general appearance of our site, such as the brown title bars. Otherwise, people will think you have an official connection to our site.

When copying text, only select the white parts. Don’t copy and paste entire pages of html from our site.

Credit Line

You must include one of the following lines in your listing, depending on what you are using:

This is necessary so other people don’t think it’s OK to just copy our work without permission.

Limitations

We may withdraw permission at any time, for any reason. If we do that, you may continue to use the text or images in auctions that are currently running, but you won’t be able to use it for any new auctions.
