Wenger Handyman Knife

The Wenger Handyman Swiss Army knife is a four-layer pocket knife with a basic assortment of practical tools. This is the most popular of the large Wenger knives.

Earlier versions of this model were also called the Huntsman knife (this knife is pretty similar to the Victorinox Huntsman, but it has a Phillips screwdriver on the back instead of a corkscrew).

NOTE-- In Great Britain, the Handyman knife is a larger, 5 layer knife that is identical to the Master model from the US.

The Handyman pocket knife started out with a key ring, then had a key chain for about ten years. In 2006, Wenger removed the chain, and went back to the original ring. We still sell Handyman with Key Chain knives, for those who prefer that appendage.

The Handyman Swiss Army knife is still in production-- it is Wenger model #16933. This handy pocket tool weighs in at a compact 87.4 grams (a bit more than 3 ounces). That is ten grams lighter than the Victorinox Fieldmaster, which has similar tools.

Handyman knives are standard-sized Swiss Army knives (3 1/4" / 84mm). They contain the following tools and blades:

Some similar Wenger Swiss Army knives:

  • Forester-- corkscrew instead of phillips screwdriver (retired)
  • Handyman Key Chain-- key chain instead of key ring
  • Safari-- small blade instead of nail file (retired)

Some similar Swiss Army knives from Victorinox:

  • Fieldmaster-- small blade instead of nail file, adds hook
