SwissBuck SwissMate Swiss Army Knife

DESCRIPTION

The Wenger SwissBuck SwissMate Swiss Army knife is a special Wenger pocket knife that was produced for a few year as part of the SwissBuck series. This model is very similar to the Wenger Century knife, but it comes in the black, ribbed SwissBuck shell with a Buck logo on it.

This model is retired, but it is sometimes available in new or used condition. It's a rare collector's item that sells at a premium price. The SwissBuck Swissmate I was Wenger/Buck model #33753. It was also sometimes called the SwissMate I knife, to distinguish it from the even rarer SwissMate II and SwissMate III SwissBuck knives.

NOTE-- All of the simple locking-blade-with-Phillips-screwdriver Swiss Army knives are now retired, but this model is the scarcest of them all! If you really need this exact combination of tools, consider a Wenger Century knife or a Victorinox Cowboy knife. Both are retired and getting rare, but they are still more available than this SwissBuck model.

WEIGHT
The SwissBuck SwissMate knife weighs about 80.2 grams (2.8 oz). It is approximately 12mm thick (a bit under 1/2").

TOOLS

SwissMate I knives are large Swiss Army knives (4 7/8" / 124 mm). They contain the following tools:

Large Locking Blade

SIMILAR Wenger SWISS ARMY KNIVES

Serrated Century-- no Phillips screwdriver, serrated blade, plain gray scales
SwissBuck SwissMate III-- adds wood saw, can opener, awl (retired model)

SIMILAR Victorinox SWISS ARMY KNIVES

Alpineer-- corkscrew instead of Phillips screwdriver
Cowboy-- same tools (retired)
