The original version of the Victorinox Explorer Swiss Army knife is a great knife for travelling. It's a moderately large knife that includes a magnifying glass, and a wide variety of other useful tools.

The original Victorinox Explorer went out of production in 1991, when it was replaced with the modern Explorer with a hook in the back. This older model is still commonly found as a used Swiss Army knife, so we do not consider it as a collector's item, and sell it for slightly less than the cost of the modern Explorer. It's a good choice if you want to save a little, and don't have a use for the hook.
