Victorinox 1991 Explorer Knife |

The 1991 version of the Victorinox Explorer Swiss Army knife is similar to the modern Explorer knife, but it has scissors that are attached with an adjustable screw rather than a rivet. It also has the "vintage" style corkscrew with grooves.
Some people prefer the scissors screw, since it allows you to adjust the tension in the scissor blades, and makes it easier to remove the blades for sharpening. This version was produced for only a year or two, so it is scarce, collectible, and much more expensive than the standard Explorer. NOTE-- If you want the scissors screw and can do without the hook, get an Explorer 1980's knife instead! They are more common than this model, and sell at a lower price even though they are older. 1991 Explorer knives are standard sized Swiss Army knives (3 1/2" / 91mm).
