The Victorinox Climber Swiss Army Knife is one of the most popular
of the standard-size models.
In 1991, Victorinox added a hook to the back of the original
Climber knife. Some knives manufactured shortly after that change
still had two vintage features-- a grooved corkscrew, and scissors
attached with a screw. However Victorinox switched the grooved
corkscrew to a smooth corkscrew at about the same time, so the
production run of this variation was very brief.
Some people prefer these knives to the modern Climbers, since
the grooved corkscrew grips the cork better, the scissor tension
can be adjusted, and it's easier to remove the scissor blades for
sharpening.
There aren't many people that collect the minor variations in
Swiss Army knives, but this model is scarce enough that we still
sell it at a moderate premium above the standard Climber knives. |
