The Victorinox Classic Hardwood Swiss Army knife is a specialty version of the Classic knife that has scales made of rosewood or some other tough wood. It is similar to the Classic SD Hardwood knives, but the tip of the nail file is different.

These knives are no longer in production. They are scarce, and always sell at a premium price when available. On the used knives, we can't always identify the species of wood that was used. Some of the hardwood knives may have been custom-made with a variety of exotic materials.

Classic Imitation Mother of Pearl-- imitation mother of pearl handles, no toothpick or tweezers
Classic Mother of Pearl-- genuine mother of pearl handles, no toothpick or tweezers (retired)
Classic SD Hardwood-- similar knife with screwdriver tip
Classic Sterling-- sterling silver scales, no toothpick or tweezers
Ensign-- stainless steel scales, no toothpick or tweezers (retired)
