Wenger Scissors

Many of the Wenger Swiss Army knives include a set of scissors.

The small (2 1/4" (58mm)) Swiss Army knives include scissors with a maximum blade opening of a bit less than 3/4" (17 mm). Although it's a bit small, the blades are very sharp, and useful for a wide variety of snipping and cutting chores.

The larger (3 1/2" / 91mm) knives have larger scissors with a maximum opening of about 1 1/8" (29 mm).

All of the Wenger scissors include a return lever. It only works when the scissors are fully extended, but it gives a more positive return action than the small spring in Victorinox scissors, and it's much less likely to break.

NOTE-- If you want a heftier pair of scissors, consider one of the Leatherman tools such as the Squirt S4.

Scissors Maintenance

The Wenger scissors are self-sharpening. About all you need to do is lubricate them occasionally with a light mineral oil, and make sure that the screw at the joint stays reasonably tight.
