Wenger Phillips Head Screwdriver

Several of the Swiss Army knives from Wenger include a phillips head screwdriver on the back side, replacing the corkscrew that is found on many of the other models.

This mid-mount driver tool can be awkward to use in tight locations, but it provides extremely good leverage, and sometimes works better than a regular screwdriver. The trick is to hold the blade with one hand, and use the other to spin the body of the knife around.

Other Wenger Phillips Screwdrivers

Several of the larger Swiss Army knives include a slightly smaller end-mounted phillips head driver as one of the tools on the main side of the knife. It locks in two different positions, so you can use it at the end of the knife (similar to a regular screwdriver), or at right angles (similar to an offset screwdriver).

Many Swiss Army knives that don't have an "official" phillips head blade can still work on phillips head screws-- use the small slot-head screwdriver on the end of the can opener, and force it tightly into two of the phillips head slots. It's not nearly as effective, but it will work in emergencies.

WARNING-- Be very careful, since it's easy to slice yourself with the sharp part of the can opener while you are using your Swiss Army knife that way.

Some of the smaller 2 1/4" (58 mm) Swiss Army knives include a decent small phillips head driver as part of the combination bottle opener tool.
