Wenger Large Blade

All of the full-sized Wenger Swiss Army knives include a large knife blade. Some of the models have a plain blade (described here), and others have a partly serrated or fully serrated knife blade.

The large blade on most Wenger Swiss Army knives is 2 5/8" (69 mm) long. Most Wenger knives have a non-locking blade (use it with care), but some of the newer models include a blade lock which prevents the knife blade from closing until you press down on a side lever.

Based on the scratches and wear we see on incoming knives, this seems to be the blade that is used most often by most people.

The Wenger large blade is broader than the standard Victorinox large blade.

When camping or hiking, this is the best tool for spreading peanut butter, cutting vegetables and splitting small kindling.

Some people leave the large blade a little on the dull side, and sharpen the smaller blade to a razor edge (though many of the Wenger knife models include a nail file instead of a second blade, which is usually standard on the Victorinox Swiss Army knives).
