Victorinox Original Pliers |
|
The earliest version of the Victorinox pliers was introduced in 1987, with the brand-new SwissChamp knife-- the new "top of the line" model. It was narrower than the modern pliers, whose thickness was increased a couple years later. Other Pliers A thicker set of Victorinox pliers was introduced in approximately 1989. In 2001, Victorinox introduced the modern pliers by adding a crimper to the handle. The Wenger pliers on Wenger Swiss Army knives include a slip joint so they can handle larger nuts. They use a lever arm as a return mechanism instead of a small spring, and they are also a bit narrower. The Leatherman pliers are much larger. They include wire cutters, and have longer arms which provide additional leverage. |
