Victorinox Hook with Nail File |
|
A few models of Victorinox Swiss Army knives include a special version of the hook which has a rough spot on one side, designed to be used as a nail file. The file surface is not quite as big as the regular nail file found on many of the smaller Victorinox knives, but its position on the back of the narrow hook often makes it more convenient to use than a flat file. This tool was introduced in the mid-1990's. The main place that you'll find it is on the Compact, which is also the smallest Swiss Army knife with a full-size set of scissors.
You can use this implement as a package
hook, to turn your knife into a handle that will help you to carry
a parcel that is wrapped in string. You can also attach a
string to the hook, and turn your Swiss Army knife into a plumb
bob or cat toy. On occasion, you might also use it to pull
a thread or line through a tight spot-- it can be handy when
you are splicing a rope, or stuffing electrical wires into a junction
box. |
