Leatherman Serrated Blade |
|
Several Leatherman tools include a serrated blade. Serrated blades come in 68mm and 7mm lengths. The Leatherman Flair and PST II features a unique hybrid clip point blade and partially serrated blade.
You can use the serrated blade much like a wood saw, to cut through extremely tough materials that are difficult to cut with an ordinary blade. The combination blade is very versatile-- you can "saw" with the serrated portion, and "slice" with the straight part of the blade. Sharpen the serrated portions of this blade with a triangular file, and maintain the same angle (don't work on the back of the blade). WARNING-- Use caution with the serrated blade-- it will cause much more serious injuries than a straight blade. There are several Swiss Army knives from Wenger which also have a partially serrated blade or a fully serrated blade. |
