Leatherman Diamond File |
|
The second generation of Leatherman multi-tools introduced a combination file that has a standard metal/wood file on one side, and a diamond-coated file on the other side. This tool generally replaced a simpler wood/metal file without a diamond coating. The diamond file does not cut as quickly as a standard file, when working on soft materials (including wood, copper, brass and soft iron). But it is built from the hardest possible material, so it is able to polish or sharpen any material (though it will wear very quickly if you actually use it to sharpen a diamond). Use the diamond file to work on any type of hardened steel, cast iron or alloy. It's particularly good for sharpening fish hooks, and the hard alloy used on other Leatherman tools. You can also use the diamond file on ceramics, glass, or any other material. Use light force when working with the diamond blade so you don't scrub off the diamonds, and this tool will give you many years of service. |
