| The "Original" Japanese
PST has
all of the variations that are typical of the Japanese PST's--
big writing, drop-point blade, ground awl,
non-USA hinge, and angular pliers.
It has several differences from the other Japanese PST's-- the
trademark text reads "US PAT 4238862", the knife tang reads "Japan
Leatherman", and the can opener has a left handed cut. Also, the
rivets have a hollow base.
Because it shares a few characteristics with the older American
PST's (trademark text and left handed can opener), we think that
this is probably the first PST variation that was produced in Japan.
However, since there are no dated parts, it is hard to be absolutely
certain. |
