Wave tool is one of Tim Leatherman's most popular, large-sized
tools. It includes twelve carefully designed and useful tools.

Unlike the previous Leatherman multi-tools, the main blades and
saws on the Wave can be used even when the tool is folded into
its closed position. The blades face out, away from the body,
so they are easier to use in tight quarters.
This model was introduced in 1998, and was replaced by the Wave
2004 after a six year run. The original Wave is still
extremely popular, and many people prefer it to its
successor, since it is simpler, and a bit lighter. This model
is definitely becoming "collectible", but it
is still priced reasonably enough that you
can use it as a practical tool.
