The Leatherman Charge XTi tool is nearly identical to the Charge
Ti, but it includes a unique cutting hook on the end of the
serrated blade, does not have scissors, and includes pliers with
a crimper. The cutting hook is ideal for cutting seat
belts, rope and other bindings in an emergency.
The Charge XTi multi-tool has a light-but-tough
titanium body, and blades forged from
tough 154 CM stainless steel.
It contains a large set of pliers (combination
needle-nose, regular pliers and wire cutters) with a crimper,
plus eight supplementary tools
folded
inside the arms of the pliers.
This is a relatively new model that was
introduced in 2004, and then retired early in 2007. It was
replaced by the Charge ALX, which has the same
tools with aluminum shells. The Charge TTi is
a current model with titanium shells; it replaces one of
the bit drivers with a straight screwdriver and scissors.
All new Charge tools come with a set of
additional bits for the bit drivers, as well as lanyard rings
and side clips which can be attached to the tool if desired. Since
these
items
get lost very easily, no used tools contain these items. |
